Effectiveness is a concept that every organisation strives for, as this metric decides how good we are at our jobs, even in limited time. Here are a few tips for being super effective at work.
Lay out 6 legitimate, doable goals:
“True effectiveness is a function of two things: what is produced (the golden eggs) and the producing asset (the goose).”
It is important for you to have short term goals in place at the start of the day and well-thought measures to accomplish those goals at the end of the day. Make short notes or sticky notes of 6 things you need to complete for a particular day in the order of priority and go in that same order. Don’t pick up the second one before the first one is complete. Focus, complete and repeat.
Use distractions to your advantage:
“Objective individuals identify their unproductive mental models and tweak them for greater effectiveness”
Set time for your fun events and as they finish, keep a mental note to get set working for your next listed goal. Go on a coffee break or snack break or a place where you can unwind and then, as soon as it finishes get an automatic mental trigger to work for your planned tasks. Takes an effort for the first few days but then, it works like a charm.

Losing out on positivity quotient can have a detrimental effect on your mental system. Similarly, constantly thinking of a problem as something looming over your head and being in the company of negative people who crib about the loopholes in the organisation without any viable solutions is the worst thing you can do to your effectiveness.
